She lets go of any pretense of distance or formality, rushing to take Kate's hand and laying a soft kiss on one of the only unbruised spots on the woman's face. Lowering her hood, she lets Kate see her, neither of them having anything to hide from each other any longer.
"I'm healing. It will take time, but I think...I think I can do better than I did before. I want to." She brushes her thumb along the top of Kate's hand, wishing she could hold her but knowing that would be impossible under the circumstances. "I've missed you."
